Ann Winder-Boyle is a mixed media collage artist who explores the themes of childhood, time and space. Her images evoke memories and emotions that draw the viewer into a strangely familiar place that can engender either a feeling of deep comfort or an inexplicable sense of unease.

Using nostalgia as the emotive key, Ann combines a variety of processes with a diverse range of materials, including old books, beeswax, bindings and wood.

Ann has a first class BA (Hons) degree and exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition for five consecutive years

"Ann Winder-Boyle's small-scale encaustic pictures always reward a second look - they have an intriguing edge of darkness about them."

- Andrew Graham Dixon, leading art critic, presenter of the BBC’s flagship arts program ‘The Culture Show’ and columnist for the Sunday Telegraph.

"Winder-Boyle has created some beautiful retro pictures, but the most interesting of her mixed media wax paintings are nostalgic with a bite; reassuring images that carry sinister undertones. One thing is clear, this artist is getting noticed, she's doing something striking and different and she may just have the intellect to turn this craft of hers into high art. Watch this space."
